I have had a lovely weekend in London with my beautiful daughter Jaime; that was my surprise birthday present!
It is such a long time since we spent time together, just the two of us, so it was extra special!
Our hotel was perfect, the wine and food delicious, and the best bit was the show...... Matilda, at the Cambridge Theatre in Convent Garden.
The show was fantastic! We all love Roald Dahl anyway, and the actors portrayed the story of Matilda beautifully.
Ofcourse, there was time for shopping in London and we didn't come back empty handed! The shops, restaurants and bars were heaving; the streets thronging with people. If there is a recession, it was difficult to see it in London!
I had the most enjoyable weekend (thankyou Jaime,x) but it was exhausting! Maybe it's just my age!lol.

Happy Birthday Charlie!!
Today we headed off to Clacton to celebrate Charlie's first birthday. His official birthday is actually tomorrow but it made sense to have his party today, Sunday, when folk are off work.
The party was great fun, lots of noise, new toys, a Thomas the Tank Engine cake and a huge birthday balloon! I think Charlie liked being the centre of attention and playing with his baby friends, cousins and Aunty Katie! However, I think he was a little over-whelmed and just a little bit tired by the time it came to blowing out the birthday candle (as you can see from the pic!)
Happy 1st Birthday Charlie!
